My intention is providing a place, people you can come to, relax at, have a good time and feel supported and welcome. The place is suited for individual travellers as much as for small groups.
In October 2016 I bought the house, renovated it (...and still improve it all the time....) and would like to share it with people, who enjoy being in this part of Portugal.
Quintinha Mojud is a farmhouse, about 10 minutes walk north of the small village of Rogil. It was built about 10 years ago (saying this 2016)and replaced an old ruin. The property includes a garden, a small orchard and some farmland. The house itself is insulated, has double glazed windows and hot water from solar energy. The central heating is fuelled by the fireplace in the living room
The spacious living/ dining room has high wooden ceilings, 2 tables and space for up to 10 people. Sofa and sofa chair are inviting to spend some time here, the fire place is the central heating centerpiece and the high french doors provide a lot of light.
There is the big, covered terrace to have breakfast on or drink a tea
There are 3 rooms, meeting different budgets. A confortable double room, a spacious dormitory room with four bunk beds and a single room with a lot of privacy which can be transformed into a small double or twin room
Single room
Double use
Twin use
There are 2 bathrooms, one with sink, bidet, toilet and bathtub/shower, one with sink, toilet and a shower. Both with windows and natural light.
You can treat yourself with a wonderful massage
The garden area was badly abondoned. I nourished the fruit trees, planted some flowers, cleaned and pruned. Big parts of the garden are sheltered from wind and views by hedges. There is a small smoking temple for all the smokers, one more sitting area with table and chairs and some sun beds.
Old logs lying around and rotting made a nice sitting space
Cat Melina discovered their purpose immediately
Cat Momo, too
Out of a barren area full of weeds a flowering garden developed
The Rota Vicentina, the hiking trail through the southwest Alentejo and the western Algarve passes within 300 m from the house.
